Life Sketch

Dr. Sattwikesh Paul is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Surgery and Radiology of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), Bangladesh. He was born on August 10, 1990, in Nalitabari Upazila, Sherpur, Bangladesh. He completed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in 2005 at Taragonj Pilot High School, Nalitabari. Subsequently, in 2007, he graduated from Dhaka Residential Model College, Dhaka, after completing the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination. He obtained Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2012 from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. Subsequently, he pursued further specialization in the field of veterinary surgery by completing an MS in Surgery in 2014 from the same university. His exceptional performance during MS program was recognized with the ‘National Science and Technology Fellowship’ in 2013–2014 from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh, and the prestigious “University Gold Medal” for outstanding contributions to veterinary science.

Embarking on his teaching journey in 2015, Dr. Paul joined BSMRAU as a lecturer in the Department of Surgery & Radiology. Simultaneously, he served as a veterinarian at the Livestock and Poultry Farm at BSMRAU, actively participating in practical veterinary endeavors. His commitment and academic prowess were acknowledged through the Australian Government RTP Scholarship, which supported his PhD studies at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia. He successfully obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from QUT in 2023. His expertise lies in the development and characterization of bioadhesive hydrogels for tissue engineering, focusing on areas such as cartilage regeneration, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and veterinary surgery.

Dr. Paul has participated in various training courses, including Strengthening Pedagogical Skills of Young Teachers, Communicative English, Internship Program, Basics of MS Office, and Extension Field Trip, thereby expanding his knowledge and honing his skills.

Dr. Paul possesses excellent communication abilities in both Bengali and English, enabling effective verbal and written interactions. This proficiency allows him to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and effectively disseminate knowledge. Dr. Paul’s professional engagements extend to memberships in esteemed organizations like Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB), Bangladesh Veterinary Council (BVC), Bangladesh Veterinary Association (BVA), and he holds a life membership in the Bangladesh Association for the Advancement of Sciences (BASS).

Through his exemplary academic achievements, commitment to education, and active involvement in professional organizations, Dr. Paul has established himself as a respected academician and veterinary professional, contributing significantly to the advancement of veterinary science in Bangladesh.
